Carmel Teacher Training Partnership
Carmel Teacher Training Partnership (CTTP) was established in 1999. After 2 consecutive outstanding OFSTED inspections we are now working in partnership with St Mary’s University, Twickenham, who in 2024 have recently received their third outstanding, to deliver outstanding initial teacher training to the next generation of Primary and Secondary teachers.
CTTP work with schools across North Yorkshire and the North East of England within the cities and surrounding areas of Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland, Gateshead, Alnwick, Darlington, Bishop Auckland, Middlesbrough and the Tees Valley.
Working with St Mary’s University, Twickenham, they offer Primary and Secondary programmes leading to award of QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and PGCE (Post-Graduate Certificate in Education).
If you are looking for a more practical, work-based experience instead of the traditional university route, this course is for you.
Training is delivered in lead schools throughout the North-East, and as you will be working in a school, you will be much more likely to get a job at the end of your training. In fact, on average, over 95% of our trainees go on to secure a teaching role, many gaining a position before the course has completed.
