Partnership School Lead Reviewers

Please see below the profiles of our eight Partnership School Lead Reviewers.

Kathleen Allison

AnonymousKathleen has been a teaching Head teacher at Kell Bank C.E. Primary, a small rural school with 35 pupils on roll, for the last eight years. It was judged Outstanding by Ofsted in July 2011 and then again in October 2013.

In January 2015 she became the Executive Head Teacher of the Federation of Snape and Thornton Watlass schools as well as Kell Bank. She therefore has an excellent understanding of the issues that face small rural schools including sustainability and ways of collaborative working.

Kathleen has also had experience working alongside another Head Teacher to successfully support a school in special measures.

Jonathan Briggs

Jonathan BriggsIn Autumn 2017, Jonathan became head of the Abbey Federation of Schools in Darlington following a number of years as Headteacher at North and South Cowton CP School, a small rural school. Previously he was Deputy Head and Acting Head at a larger school in County Durham with many different challenges.

He has been a mentor head and has supported the Swaledale Alliance with PST recruitment, ITT and school reviews.

Jonathan has a wealth of experience collaborating with local schools to identify and support shared areas of school development. 

Nicola Dobson

 

Nicola is currently Headteacher at Bolton-on-Swale St Mary’s Church of England Primary School. She has  taught for over 20 yearNicola Dobsons with a wide range of experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. In her previous post as Deputy at RAF Leeming Primary she achieved an Outstanding Ofsted judgement and developed a good understanding of the needs of service pupils.

Her strong leadership has secured consistently Good Ofsted outcomes (2012; 2016) and Outstanding SIAMS judgements (2012; 2016). She has a wide range of leadership experience supporting head teachers, governors and leadership teams of schools in challenging situations. She has supported new head teachers and those developing leadership in Church Schools. Within the Swaledale Alliance she has supported PST and Lead Governor recruitment; is a Partnership School Reviewer and delivers the Alliance Middle Leadership development programme. She works closely with Durham University mentoring BA Education students in her role as a School Training Centre Coordinator.

Jon Sykes

Jon SykesJon is a very experienced and well respected Headteacher, working in North Yorkshire. He has previously led a small primary school and is now a serving Headteacher at Hipswell Church of England Primary School on Catterick Garrison. 

His experience of leading two very different schools ensures he understands the issues facing Headteachers. 

Jon has supported other schools on a range of issues linked to school improvement.

Mike White

Mike is a Partnership School Lead Reviewer with a wide range of experience in supporting and collaborating with schools through his role as Executive Headteacher of Brompton-on-Swale and Crakehall CE Primary Schools and National Leader of Education.

Brompton-on-Swale CE Primary School has been judged by Ofsted to be Outstanding. It was awarded Teaching School status as well as National Support School status in the third cohort in 2013, and together with the Swaledale Alliance is dedicated to growing the teachers and education leaders of tomorrow.  Recently, the school was also awarded outstanding for its SIAMS (church school) inspection.

Kate Williamson

Having taught for over 17 years in North Yorkshire, Kate is currently the Executive Headteacher of Trinity Academy, which comprises of Richmond, Eppleby Forcett and Midleton Tyas. She previously led South Otterington C of E Primary School for 8 years, successfully achieving Outstanding inspection reports from both Ofsted (2014) and SIAMS (2016 & 2011). Kate is passionate about school improvement and has worked as a consultant headteacher for both the local authority and the Swaledale Alliance. She developed the materials for the Swaledale Alliance Partnership School Review Process and completed her dissertation on this project as part of her Masters Degree. One of Kate’s strengths is the creative curriculum and she has previously worked as an AST specialising in ICT and Music.
