The Swaledale Alliance is a 60 school partnership with Teaching School Status based in North Yorkshire.
The Alliance co-ordinates provision of CPD and Development Sessions including Recently Qualified Teacher development (RQT), Newly Qualified Teacher development (NQT), Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and CACHE Teaching Assistant Courses.
|The aims of the Alliance partnership of schools:|
|To have a shared aim to raise standards in achievement and attainment for all pupils|
|To facilitate equality of opportunity for all pupils accessing a broad and balanced curriculum through events in schools, the locality and community|
|To provide extended learning opportunities for pupils in the cluster through extended schools and gifted and talented provision|
|To have a moral purpose of support for colleagues and a commitment to ensuring that Headteacher well-being is an ongoing priority|
|To contribute to the annual Development Plan for the Alliance, ensuring this is strategic and focused on teaching and learning, pupil achievement and widening curriculum opportunities|
|To commit to working collaboratively with Alliance colleagues accepting the expectation that this is reciprocal|
|To share ideas and good practice and explore procurement opportunities to achieve best value across the Alliance and in individual schools|
|To respect confidentiality at all times|
The Swaledale Alliance now delivers against each of the Big Six priorities set out by the National College for Teaching and Learning.
- Play a greater role in training new entrants to the profession
- lead peer-to-peer professional and leadership development
- identify and develop leadership potential
- provide support for other schools
- designate and broker Specialist Leaders of Education (SLE)
- Research and development.
