Peer Support Teacher
Rachel Kettlewell, Trinity Academy Richmond
Before becoming a teacher, Rachel worked as a behavioural therapist specialising in children with autism providing support for children, school staff, parents and carers across the North of England and Wales.
Since qualifying she has taught across Key Stage 2. Currently, she stands as team leader for Lower Key Stage 2. Rachel has completed the Ravenswood Outstanding Teaching Programme. This experience deepened her understanding of the use of questioning, links between planning, lessons, feedback and target setting as well as inspiring her to develop a class culture demonstrating a true awareness and understanding of the gift of learning.
Rachel believes that it is important to foster children’s understanding of learning behaviour and instil a culture of lifelong learning. She aims to create inspiring, meaningful and memorable experiences that will enable children to reach their potential. She believes in creating positive relationships and a friendly, well disciplined, hardworking, collaborative learning ethos within class, staff, schools and the wider community.
