School to School Support

Headteacher Performance Management 2016-2017

Headteacher performance management is a key lever in school improvement so getting the process right is vital.

 

For this reason governing bodies are required by statute to appoint an external adviser to support them with headteacher appraisal.

 

The Swaledale Alliance is able to offer this service to governing boards for 2016-2017.

 

This service adds to our existing portfolio of training and support and is part of the movement to a ‘school led system’ currently taking place in North Yorkshire.

Support will be provided by current headteachers with the experience and knowledge needed to advice governors effectively. As current headteachers, members of our appraisal team understand the pressure points of headship and are realistic about school priorities and pupil progress targets. They have all attended recent training to ensure they can support governors in getting all aspects of the appraisal process right.

 

The Swaledale Alliance package:

 

  • Prepare for the review using relevant school data and documentation.

  • Spend half a day in your school supporting governors in reviewing the head’s performance and arriving at priorities 2016-2017

  • Support governors in ensuring targets set are SMART

  • Write a review statement including objectives and success criteria for 2016- 2017

Fees: £450 for complete package including report
