“Mathematics lessons have become more challenging. Teachers now focus on getting pupils to explain their thinking and to demonstrate to one another how they solve mathematical problems. Pupils enjoy the challenge and display confidence when given new and unfamiliar questions to tackle.
Most teachers are adept at asking probing questions to check pupils’ level of confidence and quickly spotting any misconceptions. Because of this they are able to adapt lessons as they proceed”
